APPENDIX A NOTICE OF VIOLATION
-Southern California Edison Company
.Docket No. 50-361 San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station License No. NPF-10 Unit 2 During an inspection conducted on September 14 through 18 and October 5 through 8, 1987, a violation of NRC requirements was identified. In accordance with the 'General Statement of Policy and Procedures for NRC Enforcement Actions," 10 CFR Part 2, Appendix C (1987), the violation is listed below:
10 CFR 20.203 (b), Radiation Areas, reads:
"Each radiation area shall be conspicuously posted with a sign or signs bearing the radiation caution symbol and the words:
CAUTION RADIATION AREA" Contrary to the above requirement on September 14, 1987, a radiation area approximately 15' by 25' within room 3358-C on the 37 foot elevation of the Radwaste Building with.measurable dAse-rates from 4 mrem/hr to 30 mrem/hr was not posted with a sign bearing the radiation caution symbol and the required words.
This is a Severity Level V violation (Supplement IV).
No response to this Notice is required based on the prompt corrective action taken.
