Dear Phil:
This will acknowledge your assignment as the NRC, Region V representative to coordinate with our Annual Exercise Planning and Scenario Development Committee.
For your reference, enclosed is a copy of the exercise checklist.
I call your attention to the last page which in"dictes the tentative schedule of meetings to the extent they are known at this time.
I say tentative, since scheduled meetings may have to be adjusted due to unanticipated contingencies and additional meetings may be scheduled as the progress of planning dictates.
Accordingly, should you want to attend any of these meetings, I
recommend you let me know in advance so I can affirm the indicated date.
Our very first planning meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 15 at 2:00 p.m.
At that time, we will be scoping out the broad parameters of the exercise and will have a rough draft of the objectives culled from last year's exercise and as augmented by findings from other drills that we will want to demonstrate or evaluate.
If there is anything by way of an NRC constraint or preference, such as we discussed in more detail, we will welcome that information as early as possible in the planning process.
I look forward to hearing from you again early next week after you have had the opportunity to talk with Gail.
