111-2, Wind and Tornado Loadings III-4.A, Tornado Missiles San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Unit 1 As a result of a conversation with Mr. Charles M. Trammel, Project Directorate V, USNRC, the purpose of this letter is to formally advise you that we plan to submit additional information regarding the San Onofre Unit 1 tornado modifications. The preliminary scope of these modifications was originally identified in our October 10, 1986 submittal wherein we indicated that these modifications would be scheduled in accordance with the SONGS 1 Integrated Living Schedule.
However, we recently indicated in our October 2, 1989 letter, that SCE considered this issue to be of low safety significance and that it is our intention to perform analyses which demonstrate that the tornado modifications are not required at San Onofre Unit 1 and to obtain NRC agreement. We currently plan to submit the analyses for NRC review and approval by approximately April 30, 1990.
