Dear Dr. Murley:
I appreciate the opportunity to meet with you, Jim Taylor, and Jim Partlow on July 31 and to discuss my new assignment at Edison as Vice President, Nuclear Engineering, Safety, and Licensing.
In this position, I report directly to Executive Vice President David J. Fogarty.
Also effective August 1, Edison Vice President and San Onofre Site Manager Charles B. McCarthy reports directly to Mr. Fogarty, and Senior Vice President Larry T. Papay assumed new responsibilities within Edison outside the nuclear area.
Your comments during our meeting will be very helpful to me as I return to the area of engineering, licensing, and safety, following my assignment as San Onofre site manager. I look forward to the opportunity to participate in the significant changes Edison is making to consolidate and relocate closer to San Onofre all of the essential nuclear support functions. The relocation from our general office complex to a new field location at Irvine is underway now and will be completed by the end of August.
I am confident that these changes will permit us to achieve our goals for excellence in the support and oversight we provide to San Onofre. However, much remains to be done, and I solicit your future comments in this regard. My Irvine telephone number is (714) 458-4400.
