Case Study San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Unit 1 The purpose of this letter is to provide information concerning the new Nuclear Instrumentation System installed in San Onofre Unit 1 during the recent cycle X refueling outage.

As a result of problems noted in the response of the system during the initial start up following the refueling outage, a case study was created to document the various activities associated with the installation and testing of the system.

The case study is being provided as an attachment at the request of NRC, Region V (Mr.P.Johnson).
