Docket No. 50-206 SEP Topic III-1 Quality Group Classification of Components and Systems San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Unit 1 The enclosed "Final Report of SEP Topic III-1 Quality Group Classification of Components and Systems for San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, Unit 1,"1 Revision 1, dated May 1989, is submitted to close out the remaining issues of SEP Topic III-1.
The report complies with the guidelines for resolution provided in the Integrated Plant Safety Assessment Report (IPSAR), NUREG 0829, dated December 1986.
The report concludes that San Onofre Unit 1 generally complies with current codes and standards. Where adequate compliance could not be demonstrated, periodic testing and inspections were determined to satisfactorily assure component or system integrity. Submittal of this report completes our resolution of this topic. Where appropriate, information developed during this review will be incorporated into Revision 1 of the Updated Final Safety Analysis Report as requested in the IPSAR.
