SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTION REPORT 50-206/98-06
Dear Mr. Ray:
On July 2, 1998, the NRC completed an inspection at your San Onofre Nuclear Generating
Station. The enclosed report presents the results of that inspection.
This inspection included a review of activities associated with Unit 1 and compliance with your
Post Shutdown Decommissioning Activities Report and the Permanently Defueled Technical
Specifications. This inspection reviewed safety evaluations conducted pursuant to
10 CFR 50.59, radiation protection activities, spent fuel pool operations, and the annual Unit 1
entry and inspection inside containment.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its
enclosures will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
