Docket Nos. 50-206, 50-361 and 50-362 San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Units 1, 2 and 3 As requested in NRC Compliance Bulletin No. 87-02, Fastener Testing to Determine Conformance with Applicable Material Specifications, Southern California Edison (SCE) hereby provides information on the adequacy of fasteners for use at San Onofre Units 1, 2 and 3. The information concerning fastener receipt inspection, internal control procedures and results of independent testing is provided in the enclosure to this letter in accordance with Actions 1 through 6 in the bulletin.

Based upon the review conducted by SCE to develop the requested information, it is concluded that the safety related and non-safety related fasteners at San Onofre are properly identified and the safety related fasteners satisfy the procurement specifications. Non-safety related fasteners satisfy material code specifications.

January 12, 1988 Minor warehouse procedure changes have recently been initiated which should provide additional assurance that fasteners are properly controlled. No additional changes are considered necessary.
