Southern Calfornia Edison Company 23 PARKER STREET IRVINE, CALIFORNIA 92718 F. R. NANDY March 28, 1991 TELEPHONE MANAGER, NUCLEAR LICENSING (714) 454-4504 U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Attention: Document Control Desk Washington, D.C. 20555 Gentlemen:

Subject:

Docket No. 50-206 Adequacy of Station Voltages San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, Unit 1 This letter reschedules our submittal regarding Multi-Plant Action Item No. B-48, which addresses the adequacy of station electric voltages. By our letter dated August 3, 1990, we informed you that we would be submitting updated analyses results to close this action item for SONGS 1. The primary reason for providing updated analyses is that the electric distribution system for the plant has undergone significant modifications during the recent refueling outage. These modifications consisted of improvements to the 480V electric system.

In our August 3, 1990 letter we committed to submit the updated analyses results by March 31, 1991.

This schedule was based on our projection that the Cycle 11 outage would last no longer than early November 1990, and engineering manpower could be allocated soon afterwards to update the analyses. However, due to the extension in the outage and the engineering manpower required to support the outage and subsequent plant restart, it is not possible to meet our original submittal date. We therefore expect to submit the analyses results by June 1, 1991.

If you have any questions, please call me.

Very truly yours, cc:
