Ray (SCE) dated January 2, 1990, "Order Confirming Licensee Commitments on Full-Term Operating License Open Items" This letter is to inform you that we have resolved all the open items for NUREG-0737 Item II.D.1, "Performance Testing of Relief and Safety Valves,"
and our resolution is available for your audit.
In Reference 1 you provided a Technical Evaluation Report indicating the following items were not fully resolved:
- The ability of the pressurizer power operated relief valves (PORVs) to pass the required steam flow,
- The evaluation of the pressurizer PORVs and safety valves for water discharge,
- The use of EPRI test results to demonstrate the functionability of the PORV block valves and operator combination, and
. The thermal hydraulic and structural analyses for the pressurizer PORVs and safety valves discharge piping.
You requested that we resolve these open items by the end of the Cycle 11 refueling outage and have our responses available on-site for future audit.
