This letter provides our response to the subject generic letter. The generic letter requested commitments from licensees for: 1) improvements to the Technical Specifications for Power Operated Relief Valves (PORVs), and
- 2) implementation of other recommendations. Our plans are to comply with the applicable sections of the generic letter.
We plan to submit an amendment application to revise the Technical Specifications for the PORVs and associated block valves prior to restart from the current Cycle 11 refueling outage. The submittal will contain the applicable changes requested by Generic Letter (GL) 90-06, Enclosures A and B.
Although GL 90-06 does not require this submittal until Cycle 12, we have commitments to submit proposed changes to related Technical Specifications prior to restart (see referenced letter).
We will integrate the Technical Specification changes requested by GL 90-06 with that submittal.
GL 90-06 also requested commitments for additional actions concerning maintenance, procurement of replacement parts, and testing of the PORVs and block valves. While we plan to comply with the applicable items, we are confirming our compliance with each recommendation and will provide a detailed response when we submit the amendment application.
