Docket No. 50-206 Safety Injection System Modifications San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Unit 1 During a meeting with the Regulatory staff on October 22, 1981, we presented the results of the preoperational testing described in the report entitled, "Safety Injection System Modifications, San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, Unit 1, October, 1981", submitted by letter dated October 16, 1981. In particular, we provided the results of the actuator opening force tests for HV-851A and B on the upstream discs.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Regulatory staff requested that we perform several additional actuator opening force tests and provide the results of the tests upon completion. Accordingly, enclosed is a tabulation of the SIS valve opening force data for the downstream discs.
The accumulator, manifold and line pressure data are measured quantities whereas the corresponding forces are calculated from these measurements.
Data for the "pre-inspection" runs corresponds to the nine cold flow/lp SIS sequencing tests prior to valve internals inspection as indicated in the aforementioned report. The "post-inspection" data corresponds to the same such test performed following valve internals inspection. Data for the hot SIS test will be provided to you following completion of the test.
