SAN ONOFRE NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION OPERATING INSTRUCTION S-3-5.34 Revision 0 - February 1, 1980 EMERGENCY Page 2 LOSS OF SALT WATER COOLING TO THE COMPONENT COOLING SYSTEM (Con't) 4.0 SUBSEQUENT OPERATOR ACTION (Con't) 4.2 If the auxiliary salt water pump is inophrable, align the screen wash pump discharge to the component cooling heat exchanger:

4.2.1 If the salt water flow is for the top component cooling heat exchanger:

.1 Open the inter-tie line valve between the south salt water cooling pump discharge line and the screen wash pump discharge line.

.2 Open MOV-720A

.3 Close MOV-720B 4.2.2 If the saltwater flow is for the bottom component cooling heat exchanger.

.1 Open the inter-tie line valve between the north salt water cooling pump discharge line and screen wash pump discharge line.

.2 Open MOV-720B

.3 Close MOV-720A 4.2.3 Isolate the screen wash pump normal discharge.to the traveling screens and turbine plant coolers.

4.2.4 Align the component cooling heat exchanger salt water discharge to the inlet of the turbine plant cooling heat exchanger, if the ciruculating water pump(s) have been stopped.
