Docket No. 50-206 Containment Ventilation Isolation Valves Leakage Rate Test Program San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Unit 1 Your letter of February 17, 1982 forwarded a request to provide additional information related to the subject topic. In particular, Item 4 of of your letter requested that we submit proposed Technical Specification changes incorporating the test requirements set forth in of your letter together with details of our proposed test program.
By letter dated January 26, 1983, we provided a narrative description of our Containment Ventilation Isolation System leakage rate test program. This program will be implemented prior to startup from the current outage by revising procedures to include the new testing requirements. These revised procedures will provide assurance that your testing requirements will be incorporated and future surveillance testing will be conducted at intervals consistent with these requirements. A proposed Technical Specification change incorporating the test interval for containment ventilation isolation valves with resilient material seals will be submitted by April 15, 1983. This proposed change will be submitted along with Technical Specifications which are currently being revised to reflect the containment testing requirements of Appendix J to 10 CFR part 50.
