Dear Mr. Merschoff:
Consistent with your discussion with Mr. Cyrus Anderson (SCE Manager, Emergency Preparedness), during SCE's pre-SALP meeting on June 30, 1998, this letter invites NRC to make a presentation in the INPO Emergency Planning Coordinator training program. Southern California Edison (SCE) is sponsoring this program which will be held at San Onofre from December 9 through December 11, 1998. We anticipate that about 30 individuals from Region IV utilities will attend.
The course content is being developed by Emergency Planning (EP) personnel from several Region IV plants and NRC participation would be appreciated. SCE would welcome an NRC presentation on EP-related utility/NRC regulatory interface and have reserved a two-hour time block in the course schedule for this purpose. If an NRC representative will be able to attend, please have them contact Mr. M. Hug, Emergency Planning Supervisor, at (949) 368-6881. The specific scheduling of the NRC presentation will be arranged to suit your representative's requirements.
