Docket Nos. 50-206, 50-361 and 50-362 San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Units 1, 2 and 3 As was discussed with you on December 13, 1979, effective January 1, 1980, Edison is realigning organizational responsibilities for the design, construction and operation of our nuclear units to more effectively manage this critical function. Specifically, the following changes are being accomplished.

(a) A new department, Nuclear Engineering and Operations, will have primary responsibility for the design, construction and operation of our nuclear units. Mr. R. Dietch has been appointed Vice President, Nuclear Engineering and Operations.

(b) Dr. L. T. Papay has been appointed Vice President, Advanced Engineering and will have responsibility for our Quality Assurance Program.

(c) Mr. A. Arenal will assume responsibility for the Engineering and Construction Department upon my retirement effective January 1, 1980.

It is requested that all future correspondence concerning San Onofre Units 1, 2 and 3 from the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation and the Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards be directed to Mr. R. Dietch. The Office of Inspection and Enforcement has been advised by separate correspondence of our organizational realignment and the appropriate addressee for correspondence originating from that office.
