Denton, NRC, dated June 17, 1983 Your letter (Reference A) documented the staff's review of our proposed redesign of the Safety Injection/Feedwater System and requested our schedule for submittal of final design details. The proposed redesign would provide new feedwater pumps which would then dedicate the existing system to the safety injection function. We provided a description of the conceptual design of this system in Reference B. Your review concluded that the conceptual design was acceptable, but requested a schedule for submittal of final design details.
In accordance with the plans being developed for return to service (as described in References C and D), a schedule for modification to the safety injection system will be determined by the relative safety significance established for this modification by the Integrated Living Schedule.
