This letter describes a reportable occurrence concerning our failure to eet one of the Radiological Environmental Monitor ing.requirements of Appendix B to Provisional Operatihg License DPR-13, Environmental T6chical Specifications (EUS): fbr San Onofre Unit 1 Submittal-is in accordance with the provisions of Section 5. 6.3 b) of the se ificatiois..
Specification r.2.1 equires the weekly coletion o airborne particulate
-and iodine samples at four saukling locations. A report o airborne sample data receivied.on January 17, 1977, indicated that samples.were not collected from Sa Cleniente on Deceber 20,.1976 and December 27 1976 A single three-week samgle was collected covering the per iod Deceinber 13, 1976 through January-3, 1977.T Therequireent to obtain a minimum of ten (10) samples each quarter was met during the fourth quarter-of 1976.
Responsibility fdr sample -coilection has previously been placed with'the employees of-a local business office in pClemunte.A discussion with these office personnel irdicated that the two, individuals who routinely collect air samples vere on vacation du ing the latter half of December, 1976.Reassign-r Pent of. te 'a' 'sample colletio'n responibility was overlooked.
