This letter is a follow-up report to the notification made in the referenced letter and is submitted in, accordance with the provisions of Section 6.9.2a of Appendix A to the Provisional Operating License No.

'444 Engineering staff review of the dfesel generetor manufacturer's seismic qualification documentation raiEed some question concerning the existence of several suppc rts which were to be provided in sections of the fuel oil typass lines for each of the two new diesel generators. Fielc verification led to the conclusion that three supports for

,-Unit 1 diesel generator and two supports for Unit 2,hac been omitted. The bypass lines are located primarily on the diesel generator and auxiliary skids and permit the fl.w of excess fuel oil from the diesel engine back to the fue3 oil day tank.

The missing supports are for piping section. not exceeding two (2) inches in diameter.

Engelk May 25, 1977 As identified in the referenced letter, corrective action included:

(1) Initiation of expedited procurement and installation of the missing supports and.

(2) Review of the balance of diesel generator support systems piping to determine whether, any other support had been omitted.

Regarding item (1),

above, the five (5) missing supports are being obtained from the diesel generator manu facturer.

The three supports for Unit 1 are scheduled to be delivered to the jobsite by May 27, 1977.

The two supports for Unit 2 are scheduled to be delivered to the jobsite by June 3, 1977.

The supports will be installed within the next several work shifts following'delivery.

Regarding item (2), above, review of the balance of diesel generator support system piping indicated that all other supports have been installed, as required.

Enclosed is a completed Licensee Event Report form designated LER 77-7.
