Exercise Report for the August 12, 1987, Exercise of Offsite Radiological Emergency Preparedness (REP) Plans for the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Attached is a copy of the Exercise Report for the August 12, 1987, full participation joint exercise of the offsite REP plans for the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station. The State of California and Orange and San Diego Counties, all located in the 10-mile plume emergency planning zone (EPZ), participated in the exercise.
The exercise report was prepared by the Region IX staff of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). There were no deficiencies identified during this exercise. A schedule of corrective actions is included in the exercise report which addresses the areas requiring corrective actions.
The Region will assure completion by the State of the necessary corrective actions.
Based upon the results of this exercise, there continues to be reasonable assurance that appropriate protective measures can be implemented by the offsite jurisdictions around the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station to protect the health and safety of the public in the event of a radiological emergency.
