This report provides information con cerning the environmental qualification review for the safety-related electrical equipment in accordance with the DOR Guidelines and NUREG-0588 as appropriate. This SER is being forwarded based on the requirements stipulated by the Commission Memorandum and Order (CLI-80-21) of May 23, 1980.

Also enclosed is a copy of the Franklin Research Center (FRC) Technical Evaluation Report (TER) dated June 7, 1982 which provides the basis for the SER.

The staff issued Safety Evaluation Reports (SERs) on environmental qualifi cation of safety-related equipment to licensees of all operating plants in mid-1981. These SERs directed licensees to "either provide documentation of the missing qualification information which demonstrates that safety related electrical equipment meets the DOR Guidelines or NUREG-0588 require ments or commit to a corrective action (re-qualification, replacement etc)).

Licensees were required to respond to the staff within 90-days of receipt of the SER. The addam Neck SER was issued on May 29, 1981.

The licensee, Connecticut Yankee Atomic Power Company provided a response to the May 29, 1981 SER and additional qualif.ication information in its submittals dated September 3, 1981, and February 9, 1982 to NRC for Haddam Neck.
