Dear Mr. Sveslosky:
This is in response to your letter of February 21, requesting that the NRC not issue operating licenses for the San Onofre Units 2 and 3. Public hearings on this matter will be held in the vicinity of these plants, probably next year. A decision on the issuance of.the operating licenses will be made by an Atomic Safety and Licensing Board upon conclusion of those hearings.
I am forwarding your letter to our Headquarters in Washington, D.C., for inclusion in the docket file on this project so that others interested in this matter may be made aware of your views.
