Docket Nos. 50-361 and 50-362 Steam Generator Feedring Failure, Root Cause Report San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Units 2 and 3 This letter transmits "Feedring Failure Root Cause Report, San Onofre"Nuclear Generating Station, Units 2 and 3", at the request of Mr. Lawrence Kokajko, NRC Project Manager for San Onofre Units 2 and 3. This-report documents the analysis performed by Southern California Edison to identify the root cause of the feedring and vent failures discovered in the steam generators at Units 2 and 3 earlier this year. This analysis determined the root cause of the steam generator feedring failure was inadequate design by the steam generator vendor.
