Closeout for MF1777 CATAWBA 1 - Core Operating Limits Report for Cycle 21, Revision 0
- Jason, The Reactor Systems Branch has completed the review of the Catawba 1 Core Operating Limits Report (COLR) for Cycle 21 dated April 30, 2013 with ADAMS Accession No. ML13134A046. The report was submitted per the requirements of Catawba Technical Specification 5.6.5.
The staff reviewed the methodologies used to develop the cycle specific parameters presented in the COLR, as well as any changes between the current COLR and the COLR for Cycle 22. A Request for Additional Information (RAI) was issued by the staff on August 20, 2013 with ADAMS Accession No. ML13226A154. The licensee provided a response to the RAI on September 26, 2013. In the response, the licensee provided a list of the NRC approved methodologies from Section 1.1 that are used to determine each COLR parameter limit in Section 2.0.
The staff concluded that the cycle specific parameter limits were developed using NRC approved methodologies and that changes between the current COLR and the COLR for Cycle 20 are conservative in nature and pose no safety concern.
This concludes Reactor Systems Branch staff review efforts under TAC No. MF1777.
