Closeout for MF1490 MCGUIRE 1 - Core Operating Limits Report for Cycle 23, Revision 0
- Jason, The Reactor Systems Branch has completed the review of the McGuire 1 Core Operating Limits Report (COLR) for Cycle 23 dated April 10, 2013 with ADAMS Accession No. ML13114A292. The report was submitted per the requirements of McGuire Technical Specification 5.6.5.d.
The staff reviewed the methodologies used to develop the cycle specific parameters presented in the COLR, as well as any changes between the current COLR and the COLR for Cycle 22. A Request for Additional Information (RAI) was issued by the staff on August 19, 2013 with ADAMS Accession No. 13226A120. The licensee provided a response to the RAI on September 16, 2013. In the response, the licensee provided a list of NRC approved methodologies from Section 1.1 that are used to determine each COLR parameter limit in Section 2.0. The licensee committed to including this list in future McGuire COLRs.
The staff concluded that the cycle specific parameter limits were developed using NRC approved methodologies and that changes between the current COLR and the COLR for Cycle 22 are conservative in nature and pose no safety concern.
This concludes Reactor Systems Branch staff review efforts under TAC No. MF1490.
