InFeb2008,NRCinspectionofthequalityassurance processesandproceduresforthehydrologyand hydraulicsmodel,SimulatedOpenChannel Hydraulics(SOCH),fortheBellefonteCombined LicenseApplication(COLA)resultedinviolations regarding:

- SOCHsoftwarewasnotincompliancewiththeprocedure forsoftwarevalidationandverification

- Designinputsforthehydrologymodelwerenot documentedinaccordancewithprocedure

- Computerinputfileswerenotcontrolledinaccordance withtheprocedure

3 Background

TVAutilizedresultsfromanupdatedhydrology calculation(circa 1998)forBellefonteCOLA

- PrimarysubjectoftheFeb2008inspection ThiscalculationwasusedasthebasisforUFSAR Section2.4revisions

- WattsBarinitiatedUFSARchangesin1998

- SequoyahinitiatedUFSARchangesin2002 ThiscalculationwasupdatedforTennesseeRiver damsafetyimprovements(modifications).Allother inputsremainedthesame.
