This is to acknowledge receipt of your letter dated June 1, 2012 to Senator Barbara Boxer, Senator Dianne Feinstein and Congressman Darrell Issa, in which you copied the NRC Chairman Allison Macfarlane concerning your support for the restart of the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, Unit 2. Thank you for the information. As you may be aware, on June 7, 2013 Southern California Edison announced plans to permanently retire Units 2 and 3 at San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station. With this announcement, the NRC is refocusing efforts on decommissioning activities.
