On March 12, 2012, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued Reference 1 to STP Nuclear Operating Company (STPNOC). Enclosure 3 of Reference 1 contains specific Requested Actions, Requested Information, and Required Responses associated with Recommendation 2.3 for Seismic. Reference 4 provided STPNOC's 180-day response to Reference 1 for Recommendation 2.3 Seismic for South Texas Project (STP) Units 1 and 2.

STI: 33701714

NOC-AE-1 3003006 Page 2 of 3 Specifically, Enclosure 3 of Reference 1 stated that within 180 days of the NRC's endorsement of the walkdown process (Reference 2), each addressee will submit its final response, including a list of any areas that are unable to be inspected due to inaccessibility and a schedule for when the seismic walkdown will be completed. In Reference 3, STPNOC confirmed the use of EPRI 1025286, "Seismic Walkdown Guidance: For Resolution of Fukushima Near-Term Task Force Recommendation 2.3: Seismic") as endorsed by Reference 2 to conduct the walkdowns and develop the needed information at STP Units 1 and 2.

Reference 4 provided STPNOC's final response to Recommendation 2.3 Seismic for STP Units 1 and 2. The Attachment to Reference 4 provided a commitment with respect to providing information regarding those items in Unit 2 which were not sufficiently accessible during normal plant operations. The commitment due date for reporting the walkdown results for these inaccessible items was based on the originally scheduled Unit 2 refueling outage occurring in April and May of 2013. Due to emergent station issues, the Unit 2 refueling outage was rescheduled for late Fall of 2013. Therefore, the due date for the commitment to provide walkdown results has been revised from July 2013 to February 2014.

The revised commitment is provided in the Attachment to this letter. There are no other regulatory commitments in this letter.

If there are any questions regarding this letter, please contact Jim Morris at (361) 972-8652.

I declare under penalty of perjury that the foregoing is true and correct.

Attachment NOC-AE-13003006 Page 1 of 1 List of Commitments The following table identifies the action to which the STP Nuclear Operating Company (STPNOC) has committed. Statements in this submittal with the exception of those in the table below are provided for information purposes and are not considered commitments.

Commitments Scheduled Condition Due Date Report to Reference 4 of this letter, STPEGS Unit 2 Seismic Walkdown Summary Report Section 3.3, "Inaccessible Items," identified fifteen (15) items for STP Unit 2 on the seismic equipment walkdown list (SWEL) that were not sufficiently accessible to complete the walkdown inspection during normal plant operations. These items are indicated as such by a footnote in Appendix B Table B-5 02/28/2014 12-12304-11 "Unit 2 SWEL" indicating that the walkdowns for these items were originally planned to be completed by the end of May 2013. Because the Unit 2 refueling outage has been rescheduled, walkdowns will not be completed until the end of December 2013. Therefore, the updated final report will be submitted approximately 60 days following the completion of these walkdowns.
