Shut Down San Onofre A-
, ( l (3
- Chairman, I understand that Southern California Edison is attempting to brin fre back online.
This is a devastatingly bad idea. The plant, while it has attempted to be repaired, is not in the proper condition to be brought online. We are looking at a situation that will mimic the last 3apanese nuclear disaster. The most appropriate course of action for a plant at the age, condition and risk of San Onofre is to shut it down and retire the plant.
There is no good reason to expose the southern Californian coastline to excess risk and certainly no reason to not take action on this issue before something catastrophic happens.
It is your primary duty to ensure the safety of the public and environment related to nuclear plants I expect you'll push hard for the plant to be retired based on all the clear evidence and the use of common sense.
