Dear Mr. Benney:

SUNSI Review Complete Template = ADM - 013 E-RIDS= ADM-03 Add= B. Benney (bjb)

The City of Laguna Beach is just outside the evacuation area for San Onofre. When the sirens go off Laguna residents are told go inside and pack the doors and windows with towels. Or duck tape if we have it. One sunny day is proof positive that evacuation is impossible. So we go forward in a state of denial, incapable of comprehending what becomes more possible as Edison's incompetence is exposed.

Edison hasn't managed to make the old fashioned method of delivering electricity safe. Three fires have been https://www.fdms.gov/fdms-web-agency/componentlcontentstreamer?objectld=090000648 1 2e6e5a&for...

Page 2 of 2 blamed on Edison's pole failure. Not that complicated. How can we trust them with a nuclear power plant?

Edison spends millions trying to prove their flawed plant is safe. They spin, hoping ratepayers will have to pay for their folly. A major accident at San Onofre will have far reaching consequences, hundreds of thousand deaths, and an financial crisis that will equal 9-11. A hearing will show the plant must be closed. Ask the whistle blowers. Look at their safety record.

Edison asked for the NRC for a license amendment that would relax rules regarding the integrity of the degraded steam generator tubes -the very issue that led to the unexpected shut down of the reactors. It is evident why they want less scrutiny.

Please don't have your names as a footnote in history..... those that let Edison start their flawed plant.

This is not a hearing about nuclear energy. We rely on you for safe nuclear energy. When this plant fails the future of all other plants is threatened.
