31200 Sherwood Rd Ft Bragg, CA, 95437 Organization: Ocean Protection Coalition General Comment The hazards of licensing San Onofre Nuclear plant are too dangerous to the health and safety of the State, as it was built on an earthquake fault line in a fragile Marine Terrace, in a hugely populated ares. The plant was shut down for health reasons as it is old, leaky and a danger to the community, and indeed the planet. We need to invest in clean and renewable energy now, not this old hazardous Nuclear facility. There is a problem with the radioactive waste generated, and that must be dealt with safely. Storing Nuclear wast in "cooling ponds" on this site is not a good solution, and it is risky to transport this substance across California! It must stay shut down.
