1428 Clearview Way San Marcos, CA, 92078 General Comment I would like to submit my comments and concerns regarding the restarting of the nuclear reactor at San Onofre Power Plant. As a father I am deeply concerned for the safety of my children. As a teacher, I am deeply concerned with the safety of all of my students. The failure of the tubes within the reactor has the strong potential to yield a catastrophic failure in the future. The environmental, and economic damage to a state which is one of the largest economies on the planet will be forever. There a multitude of alternative energies available now that should be pursued, as well as a rethink and re-engineering of the design of the current tube system within the reactors. I understand we need power to live our current lifestyles, and I understand there are economic interests in keep the plant open. But those short term goals should not outweigh the long term survival and quality of life of all people. We could look to Germany and their recent push to close nuclear power plants and invest in green tech, solar, wind, etc. It is working where there is not nearly half the sunshine that we receive in California. Please do not allow the reactor back online until a solution can be produced. Thank you.
