Docket No. 50-361; NRC-2013-0070 I am writing to express my opposition to restart the San Onofre nuclear facility. I understand that there is history of plant shut downs due to the failure of various parts integral to the safe production of power.
San Onofre, like Fukushima, is located in an area in which earthquakes can and do occur. Moreover like Fukushima there are large urban populations within 75 miles of the facility whose health and well-being is placed in jeopardy should there be an accident as the result of natural disaster and/or component failure. As one of those nearby residents I fear for my safety should San Onofre resume operation and strongly oppose reopening San Onofre.
