817 Kern St Chico, CA, 95928 General Comment Nuclear power is too risky, and too costly. Global warming will continue to contribute to the rising intensity of weather events like the tsunami that hit the nuclear plant in Japan. California is already at high risk for earthquakes that could damage the San Onofre plant. We have not come up with satisfactory long term solutions to dealing with nuclear wastes. Incidents of protesters entering nuclear sites has proven that we cannot assume that any site is safe from terrorist attacks.
The safety of nuclear power plants is questionable anywhere, but clearly unacceptable in southern California.
