General Comment I learned that in order to work on the tubes you have to cut into the containment chamber wall because the designer forgot to put a door in the chamber wall to get in to fix something like this. There is a chance the wall will crack making the whole chamber useless. I also understand that by Edison's own forecast, this fix-it job, even if the wall doesn't crack when you do it, is only going to give the plant maybe another 15 months before Edison agrees it would be too dangerous. Why would anyone consider taking such chances with so little ROI?
The idea of licensing a restart is absurd especially by a shady deal that prevents the public from providing input in a public hearing. I request that Edison cut it's losses on San Onofre ASAP so it can spend it's resources entirely on wind and solar power generation as soon as possible. Stop pouring good money after bad, investing in a plant whose repair is far too risky and short-lived.
