2013 Nuclear Energy Liability Endorsements Each Duke Energy power reactor participates in the industry retrospective rating plan as required by Section 170 of the Atomic Energy Act. Such participation is evidenced by certificate to the Master Policy in the custody of the NRC - Nuclear Energy Liability Insurance (Secondary Financial Protection), issued by American Nuclear Insurers / Nuclear Energy Liability Insurance Association. Duke Energy submits these Certified Endorsements to the Commission following the renewal of such certificates on January 1 st of each year in accordance with Section 140.15(e).
1A license amendment request was filed on April 20, 2013 to change the name of Carolina Power & Light Company to Duke Energy Progress, Inc.
2A license amendment request was filed on March 20, 2013 to change the name of Florida Power Corporation to Duke Energy Florida, Inc.

U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission April 30, 2013 Page 2 Based on Federal Register 72FR59574NoI. 72, No. 203/Monday, October 22, 2007, Duke Energy considers the submission of these Secondary Financial Protection Certified Endorsements to the Commission sufficient to satisfy its 10 CFR 140.21 reporting requirement. Duke Energy hereby submits the attached Certified True Copies of the original Certificate for insurance coverage under the Master Policy - Nuclear Energy Liability Insurance (Secondary Financial Protection) pursuant to 10 CFR 140.21.
A summary list of the endorsements is provided in Attachment 1. Copies of the certified endorsements are provided in Attachment 2 - 8.
Certified copies of the American Nuclear Insurers (ANI) endorsements were sent by Marsh USA to Mr. Ira Dinitz, Insurance & Indemnity Policy Analyst, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), by letters dated January 4, 2013 (Legacy Duke), January 4, 2013 (Legacy Progress) and March 1, 2013 in accordance with 10 CFR 140.15.
