NRC Letter, Request for Information Pursuant to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations 50.54(f) Regarding Recommendations 2.1, 2.3, and 9.3, of the Near-Term Task Force Review of Insights from the Fukushima Dai-ichi Accident, dated March 12, 2012 In Reference 1, Exelon Generation Company, LLC (EGC) provided the NRC with the Dresden Nuclear Power Station (DNPS), Units 2 and 3 seismic walkdown reports in accordance with the NRC Request for Information (Reference 2). The DNPS Units 2 and 3 seismic walkdown reports document the plant walkdowns performed to identify and address plant-specific vulnerabilities and verify the adequacies of monitoring and maintenance procedures.

In Table E-1 of Enclosure 2 of Reference 1, EGC provided the list of the fifteen (15) DNPS Unit 3 items that were deferred due to inaccessibility.

EGC committed to complete the walkdown inspection of these fifteen (15) items during the D3R22 Refueling Outage (Fall 2012). In Table E-2 of Enclosure 2 of Reference 1, EGC provided the list of the thirty-three (33) DNPS Unit 3 electrical cabinets that required supplemental inspections for which six (6) were completed.

EGC committed to complete the remaining twenty-seven (27) supplemental inspections of these electrical cabinets by D3R27 Refueling Outage (Winter 2022).

U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Supplemental Response to 50.54(f) Letter NTTF Recommendation 2.3: Seismic April 30, 2013 Page 2 This letter provides the results of the completed walkdown inspections performed for the fifteen (15) DNPS Unit 3 items identified in Table E-1 of Enclosure 2 of Reference

1. These inspections were completed during the D3R22 Refueling Outage (Fall 2012). Additionally, this letter provides the supplemental internal inspection updates on the twenty-seven (27) remaining DNPS Unit 3 electrical cabinets identified in Table E-2 of Enclosure 2 of Reference 1, with one (1) additional internal inspection completed and two (2) items removed from the list which are not electrical cabinets and that were included in error. As a result of this change, twenty-four (24) supplemental internal electrical cabinet inspections remain for DNPS Unit 3.No degraded, nonconforming, or unanalyzed conditions that required either immediate or follow up actions were identified.

Enclosure 1 to this letter provides the updated DNPS Unit 3 Seismic Walkdown Report incorporating the results of the completed walkdowns of the fifteen (15) DNPS Unit 3 items identified in Table E-1 of Enclosure 2 of Reference 1, and the results for one (1) completed supplemental internal electrical cabinet inspection.

Additionally, two (2) items identified in Table E-2 of Enclosure 2 of Reference 1 have been removed from the list since they are not electrical cabinets and were included in error. The remaining twenty-four (24) supplemental internal electrical cabinet inspections for DNPS Unit 3 are listed in Table AE-2 of Enclosure 1 of this letter and will be inspected as previously committed.

This letter contains no new regulatory commitments.
