SUMMARY

OF APRIL 23,2013, MEETING WITH EXELON GENERATION COMPANY, LLC, ON A FUTURE SUBMITTAL REGARDING MODIFICATION OF TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR MAIN STEAM ISOLATION VALVES AND THEIR ACTUATOR TRAINS (TAC NO. MF0884, MF0885, MF0886, AND MF0887)

On April 23, 2013, a Category I public meeting was held between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and representatives of Exelon Generation Company, LLC, at NRC Headquarters, One White Flint North, 11555 Rockville Pike, Rockville, Maryland. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss a future submittal regarding modification of technical specifications for main steam isolation valves (MSIV) and their actuator trains. The meeting notice and agenda, dated April 4, 2013, is available in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) at Accession No. ML13094A092. A list of attendees is provided as an enclosure.

The licensee presented information (ADAMS Accession No. ML13107A053) that provided submittal background, the MSIV hydraulic actuator system configuration, an overview of the future submittal, relevant precedent for the submittal, and how probabilistic risk assessment will be presented in the submittal.

The NRC staff queried the licensee about the MSIV hydraulic actuator configuration and the probabilistic risk assessment. The licensee provided clarifying remarks that addressed the staff's questions. The information presented was useful to the staff's understanding of the expected submittal content and the expected resources needed to review the submittal.

Members of the public were not in attendance. Public meeting feedback forms were not received.
