Saturday, April 06, 2013 3:43 PM CHAIRMAN Resource SONGS restart ogi cýc Vf OP PLease let me know if the following statement is true:
"The NRC is approximately two years away from promulgating regulations addressing Beyond Design Basis events such as great quakes and tsunamis, yet they plan to make their restart decision within a couple of months - before they have fully addressed all circumstances that could result in a catastrophic meltdown. The NRC's claim that "safety is their highest priority" is clearly nothing more than misleading rhetoric designed to lull a trusting population into accepting a potential nuclear nightmare" If this is true, I can't believe that the NRC is not taking in account major earthquakes in deciding whether to restart SONGS. Please use common sense in your decision - don't hide behind red tape in doing the right thingl Don't experiment on the people who live ciose to SONGS - Edison doesn't have enough insurance to cover a failed experiment in turning on their flawed power plant.
One person needs to be responsible for this potential fiasco. We will not let the blame be pushed around - you as the head of the NRC will be held personally responsible.
You need to monitor things closely - NO excuses will be accepted.
