Dear Chairman Macfarlane,
I am writing to ask if the San Onofre nuclear power plant is protected/hardened for an EMP event? If so, to what extent? Any links you can share on this? We could experience a large solar EMP or from an act of war.
See link below for reference.
I hope this will be taken into consideration on any decisions that you make regarding restarting San Onofre. I also hope that you will reject the restart completely and work toward safer and cleaner sustainable solutions such as solar and wind power.
I am also hopeful that there will be appropriate public meetings with full disclosure of safety documentation and located in southern california if you plan to proceed with the restart request.
I wrote to SCEdison to ask about the EMP situation but have not gotten a reply.
