This request for relief contains alternative requirements for the ASME Section XI Repair/Replacement Program for preemptive full structural weld overlays to mitigate the potential for primary water stress corrosion cracking of susceptible material at Diablo Canyon Power Plant (DCPP) Unit 2. - 1. The Performance Demonstration Initiative Program alternatives and their bases with respect to ASME Code Section XI , Appendix VIII, Supplement 11 requirements are included in Enclosure

- 32-9199805-000, "Diablo Canyon Power Plant Unit 2 PZR Safety and Spray Nozzles Planar Flaw Analysis" and AREVA Ca lculation
- 32-9199937-000, "DCPP Unit 2 -Evaluat i on of Laminar Indications in Pressurizer Nozzles," respectively, which contain information proprietary to AREVA. Accordingly, Enclosure 5 includes AREVA's Affidavit for the calculations mentioned above. The affidavit is signed by AREVA, the owner of the information.
The affidavit sets forth the basis on which the AREVA proprietary information contained in Enclosures 3 and 4 may be withheld from public disclosure by the Commission, and it addresses with specificity the considerations listed in paragraph (b )(4) of 10 CFR 2.390 of the Commission's regulations.
PG&E requests that the AREVA proprietary information be withheld from public disclosure in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390. Correspondence with respect to the AREVA Affidavit or the AREVA proprietary information provided in Enclosu.res 3 and 4 should reference AREVA Affidavit and be addressed to Gayle F. Elliott, Product Licensing Manager, AREVA NP, 3315 Old Forest Road, Lynchburg, VA 24501. Enclosure 6 contains AREVA Calculation
