Dear Chairwoman MacFarlane:

On behalf of the Ontario Chaniiev ofCommnejeand.ra. 5()ocrime organizations, I am writing to express support for a fair and inclusive regulatory process currently underway for the proposed restart and operation of the San Onofre Nuclear*eneratiug Station (SONGS) Unit 2.

The Chamber believes that Southern California Edison should be allowed to restart and operate SONGS a poosed in their Return-to-Service Action Plan if the Nuclear Regulatory Commiso linshey have sufficiently completed the compensatmy and corrmtive actions ree in tIhe6 27, 2012 Confnmatory Action Letter.

-ri The Ontario business comnmunity and thousands of jobs depend on a reliable power system.

SONG'b serves a critical function of providing our regional transmission system with voltage support throughout the year, particularly in times of peak demand. Developing alternative sources of enegy to offset the loss of power genmad as SONGS nmay be necessary, but the Chamber is concerned that no source will be able to be put into place quickly tnoug to provide the immedise reliability dat our businesses need duin peak condiis In addition, we are concerned with the lack of input the NRC sought from the iunpcted business community throughout the meeting. Turning our fragile recovery into saong economic growth requires affordable, reliable power to business and resident alike. Therefore, we encourage the NRC to conduct a more inclusive process noving ahead and we took forward to participating.
