Inspection of Oconee flood walls-Draft words:
Region II will have the NRC lead for inspection of the Oconee flood walls. Existing Inspection Procedures for evaluation of plant modifications provide sufficient guidance to conduct the inspections (71111.18 and 71111.17). The resident inspectors will be augmented by specialist inspectors with the appropriate technical expertise to conduct the inspections. Activities will be coordinated with FERC through the NRC Dam Safety Officer. Findings will be assessed under the ROP. Duke had committed to incorporating the flood walls into the licensing basis for the plant. NRR is evaluating incorporating subsequent periodic inspections of the constructed flood walls into the appropriate inspection procedures.
