RE: Draft IN on NSAC/60

Antonios, I am mostly the beneficiary of the effort and knowledge you, Mitman and others have gathered on this topic.

If you have any additional comments, I would also greatly appreciate them.

Thank you, Fernando From: Zoulis, Antonios.

RE: Draft IN on NSAC/60

Fernando, On first read, the IN is concise and to the point. I think you have accomplished what we weren't able to for the past 2 years. It is not the hammer that many were looking for but it explains the weaknesses of NSAC/60 and the complexity of deriving dam failure frequency using data alone.

Great job, Antonios From: Ferrante, Fernando Sent: Friday, September 03, 2010 6:21 PM To: James, Lois Cc: Zoulis, Antonios; Mitman, Jeffrey

Draft IN on NSAC/60

All, Again, I greatly appreciate your time and feedback on the 09/02 meeting.

Please find attached a draft of the IN based on the discussions. I would greatly appreciate feedback on this, too. At this stage, I am not planning to resume a meeting discussion unless there is an indication from you that this draft does not follow what was discussed. Note that the "discussion" section is empty, as this will be mainly a summary based on the finalized draft.

Thank you, Fernando Ferrante, Ph.D.
