CRYSTAL RIVER UNIT 3 NUCLEAR GENERATING PLANT - WITHDRAWAL OF REQUEST FOR RELIEF TO USE ASME CODE CASE N-791 (TAC NO. ME8507)

Dear Mr. Franke:

By letter dated April 30, 2012 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML12124A067), Florida Power Corporation (the licensee), submitted a relief request for Crystal River Unit 3 Nuclear Plant (CR-3). The licensee had requested approval to use American Society of Mechanical Engineers Code Case N-791 , "Shear Screw and Sleeve Slices," as an option for reinforcement splicing for CR-3 containment repair.

Subsequent to the submittal of the request for relief, the licensee notified the Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff that CR-3 would be retired. By letter dated February 7,2013 (ADAMS Accession No. ML13043A029), the licensee withdrew the request for relief. The purpose of this letter is to acknowledge the withdrawal of this relief request, and to notify the licensee that the NRC staff will close TAC No. ME8507.
