CRYSTAL RIVER UNIT 3 NUCLEAR GENERATING PLANT CERTIFICATION OF PERMANENT CESSATION OF OPERATION AND PERMANENT REMOVAL OF FUEL FROM THE REACTOR
Dear Mr. Franke:
By letter dated February 20, 2013, you provided the certification required by Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR), Section 50.82(a)(1 )(i) and (ii), that operation has been permanently ceased and that all fuel has been permanently removed from the reactor vessel at Crystal River Unit 3 Nuclear Generating Plant (CR-3). With these certifications, you acknowledge that the 10 CFR Part 50 license for CR-3 no longer authorizes operation of the reactor or emplacement or retention of fuel in the reactor vessel.
This letter acknowledges your certification of permanent cessation of power operation and permanent removal of fuel from the vessel. Therefore, pursuant to 10 CFR 50.82(a)(2), the 10 CFR Part 50 license for CR-3 no longer authorizes operation of the reactor or emplacement or retention of fuel in the reactor vessel.
