ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RESPONSE TO NRC NOTICE OF VIOLATION
AND NRC INSPECTION REPORT 05000498/2012007 AND 05000499/2012007
Dear Mr. Koehl:
Thank you for your letter dated, December 11, 2012 (ML12359A064), in response to our
November 20, 2012, letter and Notice of Violation EA-12-227 issued to STP Nuclear Operating
Company (ML12325A789).
Notice of Violation EA-12-227 was issued as a result of the South Texas Projects untimely
implementation of corrective actions for deficiencies in the stations fire protection program. We
have reviewed the attachments to your December 11, 2012, letter, which describe the stations
intended response to the violation described in the Notice. We have concluded that you have
provided adequate information on your plans to address this noncompliance. We will review the
implementation of these corrective actions during a future inspection to determine whether full
compliance has been restored and will be maintained.
