Preston Gillespie to Victor McCree (Nuclear Regulatory Commission), Standby Shutdown Facility Design Review Project Plan and Schedule, dated February 17, 2012 By the referenced letter, Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC (Duke Energy) submitted to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) the plan and schedule for the Standby Shutdown Facility (SSF)

Design Review Project. Since that time, there have been two updates to the plan and schedule.

The purpose of this letter is to document that these updates have been informally shared with the NRC. Revision 1 to the plan and schedule was presented to the NRC at a meeting with the ONS Senior Resident Inspector on August 27, 2012. Revision 2 to the plan and schedule was informally given to the ONS NRC Senior Resident Inspector on Monday, October 22, 2012.

Upon request, Duke Energy will make the existing and any future revisions to the SSF Design Review Project plan and schedule available to the NRC for inspection in the Senior Resident Inspector's ONS office.

This submittal document contains no regulatory commitments.
