Anchorage

1. Is anchorage configuration verification required (i.e., is the item one of the 50%

of SWEL items requiring such verification)?

2.

Is the anchorage free of bent, broken, missing or loose hardware?

3.

Is the anchorage free of corrosion that is more than mild surface oxidation?

4.

Is the anchorage free of visible cracks in the concrete near the anchors?

No Yes Yes Yes

5.

Is the anchorage configuration consistent with plant documentation? (Note:

This question only applies if the item is one of the 50% for which an anchorage configuration verification is required.)

Not Applicable

6.

Based on the above anchorage evaluations, is the anchorage free of potentially adverse seismic conditions?

Cabinet is anchored with six angle clips (three on the front and three on the rear). Each clip has one 5/8-inch wedge anchor.

INSTRUMENT RACKS/ Instrument Rack 2252-84

8.

Are overhead equipment, distribution systems, ceiling tiles and lighting, and masonry block walls not likely to collapse onto the equipment?

Overhead light at east end of rack has open S-hook. Wall braces on Switchgear 24-1 preclude adverse interaction. Situation judged to be acceptable.

IR 1390863:

During the Seismic Walkdowns it was identified that a light fixture hanging above the 250 VDC MCC 2B has open S-hooks. However, the fixture is hardwired to the ceiling at one end and the other end is above a lateral bracing member, therefore, impact to the equipment would be minimal if there were a fall.

Similarly, the light fixture hanging above Instrument Rack 2252-84 has an open S-hook on the East end of the fixture. However, lateral bracing for Bus 24-1 would prevent contact with instrument rack in the case of a fall. Not a concern with a seismic SSC, but needs to be corrected for seismic interaction concerns. Identified during area walk-by inspection.

9.

Do attached lines have adequate flexibility to avoid damage?

10.

Based on the above seismic interaction evaluations, is equipment free of potentially adverse seismic interaction effects?

Interaction Effects

7.

Are soft targets free from impact by nearby equipment or structures?

Bottom of the door at the east end of the back side is not properly seated.

The door is adequately latched and judged to be acceptable.

8.

Are overhead equipment, distribution systems, ceiling tiles and lighting, and masonry block walls not likely to collapse onto the equipment?

Overhead light fixtures with open S-hooks. Situation mitigated by power cord and MCC top bracing and judged to be acceptable.

IR 1390863:

During the Seismic Walkdowns it was identified that a light fixture hanging above the 250 VDC MCC 2B has open S-hooks. However, the fixture is hardwired to the ceiling at one end and the other end is above a lateral bracing member, therefore, impact to the equipment would be minimal if there was a fall.

Do attached lines have adequate flexibility to avoid damage?

Based on the above seismic interaction evaluations, is equipment free of potentially adverse seismic interaction effects?
