NEI 12-07, Guidelines for Performing Verification Walkdowns of Plant Flood Protection Features, Revision 0-A, dated May 2012 On March 12, 2012, the NRC staff issued a Request for Information in accordance with 10 CFR 50.54 (f) (Reference 1). Enclosure 4 of that document contains specific requests associated with Recommendation 2.3 for Flooding Walkdowns, which required a written response to be submitted within 90 days.
Duke Energy submitted its response on June 8, 2012, which in part, confirmed that Duke Energy would use the NRC endorsed industry guideline, NEI 12-07 (Reference 2), as the basis for performing flooding walkdowns at the Oconee Nuclear Station (ONS). In the June 8, 2012 response, Duke Energy further stated that a report documenting the results of the flooding walkdowns at ONS would be submitted by November 27, 2012. addresses the information requested in Reference 1 regarding the Flooding Walkdown report as outlined in Appendix D of the NRC endorsed guidance, NEI 12-07.
